This is a refreshing and healthy summertime snack or dessert. I love to serve this when we have a BBQ at our house instead of an unhealthy dessert loaded with sugars, dyes and processed ingredients. Watermelon is loaded with vitamins such as Vitamins A and C. It boosts the immune system, aides in lowering blood pressure due it’s potassium and magnesium content, detoxifies the body and helps prevent kidney stones. Watermelon also is known to relive sore muscles due to amino acid content and help hydrate the gut, thus balancing out bowel issues.
Why not serve a healthy dessert jammed packed with so many health benefits? Simple to do too.
Watermelon Ice Pop Recipe
- 2-3 cups of watermelon, cubed (no skin)
- Juice of 1 lime (you can use a lemon instead)
- 12 strawberries (not stems)
In blender, combine the above ingredients. Blend until smooth. Pour mixture into ice pop molds and freeze until done (about 4 hours). Serve and enjoy!
